Let JBO introduce you to new vistas of creativity.

These concerts feature women composers from the 17th and 18th centuries. Many labored in obscurity and were fully discovered only in modern times. Others were well-known and respected in their own time.

We look forward to treating you to this musical feast!

Dr. Abigail Mace, who has recently been appointed Music Director of JBO, will perform on harpsichord at these concerts. Find out more about Abigail here.

Nancie Linn Shaw, Concertmaster

Nancie Linn Shaw has a long and varied career as a music educator and performer. She received her Masters in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan and performs on violin and viola in solo recitals, chamber ensembles, and orchestras.

With the exception of a hiatus while she was sailing in the Pacific, Nancie has coached at the Ashland Chamber Music Workshop since 1992. While living in the Seattle area she was also the Chamber Music Director of the Academy of Music Northwest.

Nancie is a regular adjudicator for school solo/ensemble and orchestra festivals. Her orchestras in Washington were highly acclaimed, consistently winning top prizes at the Northwest Orchestra Festival and performing at Washington Music Educators Association conferences. She also presented seminars at those conferences on string teaching and performing.

Many years ago, Nancie played with the Jefferson Baroque Orchestra on some of its earliest concerts. She is grateful to be living back in the Rogue Valley and is enjoying renewing her association with JBO, as both a violinist and a conductor.
