Additional notes
Auditions are required for NEW members only or for those wishing to perform a solo and who have not done so within the past year. “Baroque” for our purposes refers to works composed between 1600-1750. If auditioning for both solo and choral/tutti please prepare just the solo requirements above and make us aware of your interest in both on the Audition Registration Form.
About JBO
Founded in 1994 by Jim Rich, the Jefferson Baroque Orchestra has delighted audiences in Southern Oregon with performances of major works by Bach, Handel, Telemann, and others for over three decades. JBO presents vibrant interpretations of works from the Baroque period in a manner that is consistent with the performance practices of the period. This includes performing on historical instruments or copies of instruments from the period, using gut instead of steel strings, following performance practices from historical treatises on ornamentation, sound production, articulation, and more. We are looking for performers who are committed to creating an authentic baroque sound. JBO is under the direction of harpsichordist Dr. Abigail Mace.
If you have any questions please email director@jeffersonbaroque.org. We look forward to hearing your audition!
